As a product designer, I aimed to enhance the experience of buying and selling second-hand products, particularly for students. Recognizing the economic benefits, my goal was to craft an intuitive application that not only simplifies the process but also makes the budget-friendly journey even better for students.
When people hear about "second-hand products," their first worry is often about the product's condition and the risk of encountering scammers. Even though these items are usually cheaper, students often avoid buying them due to these concerns. To make the experience better, we need to find ways to address these worries and make buying second-hand goods easier and safer.
For the scope of this project, I concentrated on the screens that are used to buy second-hand products
To better understand this experience, I interviewed two students who have previously sold or bought second-hand products. The following are the main pain points discovered. These are common pain points from both the interviews.
There are 2 products that students use extensively to buy and sell second-hand products. During the interviews, these platforms were widely talked about by users.
